DETAILS:

The residency is on the main street, and everything in town is walking distance.

Natimuk has its own festival, which has a focus on new work and the residency gives you the opportunity to meet, collaborate or be inspired by these very welcoming artists and the friendly community. http://natifrinj.com  The philosophy of the festival is 'come and play with us'. It is run by ACT Natimuk (formally Arapiles Community Theatre) which also runs other art events in the town including a film night, Palais de Pixel, climbing film festival every Easter - Goat Fest, and a circus club.

The town has a small gallery for exhibitions, the Goat Gallery

The town has a beautiful town hall, The Soldiers Memorial Hall, with some lighting, a good sound system and a proscenium stage (seats 200). It also has rear project and front project screens, and new 7K lumen projector. There are a variety of other spaces and venues in the town and area. There is a community space in the old Council Building called NC2 which is available for meetings and presentations.

The house is a work of art in its own right, with tree trunks in the loungeroom, and a red colourbond ceiling in the dining area. It offers a well-lighted studio space (4m x 4m) and a large separate bedroom. The living area combines a loungeroom, dining area and kitchen. It is fully furnished, and the walls are covered in art and books. It has good heating and cooling. The extensive library has books on art, philosophy, literature, theatre, fiction, climbing and other topics. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom is beautiful, with a claw foot bath and large windows that look out into the secluded garden. There is a laundry.  There is a verandah that runs around the house and a number of places to sit an think and watch the bird life.
